See who did what on the POS, and when

Every void, refund, discount and write-off is recorded with a name and a time. You see them in the order history and on the day’s Z report, also on your phone.

Switching to Resto is free, and you can cancel at any time.

Actions on the POS

The actions you want to keep an eye on

Each action shows in the order history, on the Z report, or in both.

  • Void

Staff pick a reason from a list and can add a comment. Once the owner sets up reasons, staff cannot void without picking one.

    • Order history
    • Z report · Per item, with count and amount
  • Refund

Staff refund to the original payment, in full or in part.

    • Order history
    • Z report · Per payment type
  • Discount

Staff give a discount on an item or on the whole check and can add a reason. Removing an automatic discount is also recorded.

    • Order history
    • Z report · Each discount by name, amount and count
  • Write-off

A write-off closes the unpaid balance of a check, for example when a guest leaves without paying. Staff can type a reason.

    • Order history
    • Z report · The day’s total
  • Price override

Staff can change the price of an item on the POS. The order’s history records the change with a name and a time.

    • Order history
    • Z report · Not on the report
  • No sale

Staff confirm that they open the drawer without a sale. An electronic drawer records each time it opens and closes.

    • Order history · Not tied to an order
    • Z report · The count of no-sale opens

Checking the day

Check the day in four steps

All you need is the Z report, the order list and the order history. You can read them all on your phone.

  1. Read the Z report

The sealed Z report shows voids, refunds, write-offs and no-sale opens. Compare them with a normal day.

  2. See which items were voided

The voids table shows which items staff voided, how often, and for how much.

  3. Find the orders

Filter the order list in the back office, for example by a discount above an amount, or by write-offs.

  4. Open the history

The order’s history shows who did what, at what time, and which reason they picked.

Sign-in

Each staff member has a personal PIN

Each staff member signs in personally, so every action has the right name on it. The POS locks itself when it is idle.

  • Each staff member gets a personal PIN in the back office.
  • Too many wrong PINs lock the screen.
  • An idle POS shows a warning first, then locks.

Common questions

Why are no-sale drawer opens counted?
Icelandic Regulation 50/1993 requires it. Each report shows how often the drawer opened without a sale. An electronic drawer also records each time it opens and closes. A manual drawer cannot.
Can I check this on my phone?
Yes. The back office works on a phone, including the Z reports and the sales summary.
Can I print the history?
Yes. The POS prints the order history, the X report and the Z report on the receipt printer.
Does the Z report go to the accounts?
Yes. The day’s sales go to your accounting system. See accounting.

We show you the reports in a demo
