Self-service kiosk

Guests order and pay on their own

The kiosk shows the same menu as your POS, in the guest’s language. The guest pays by card, the kitchen gets the order, and the guest gets a number.

Step 1 / 4 · Allergens

Every allergen, on the screen.

The guest taps “More information” and sees the ingredients, the allergens and what the dish may contain.

  • All 14 allergens on the EU list.
  • You enter the ingredients once, and the kiosk and the POS show the same.
  • The guest reads it all in their own language. If a translation is missing, the kiosk shows your main language.

Step 2 / 4 · Extras

Every extra, paid for.

The guest picks the extras, just like on the POS. The price of each extra adds to the price of the dish.

  • The kiosk asks for required choices, for example “choose one bun”, before the dish goes in the basket.
  • Sold-out options show in grey.
  • The guest can write a special request, for example “no onions”.

Step 3 / 4 · Payment

Pay by card, get a number.

The guest enters a name and taps a card or phone on the terminal at the kiosk. The screen shows an order number, and staff call the name or the number when the food is ready.

Step 4 / 4 · Kitchen

Paid orders go straight to the kitchen.

The kitchen sees the order on the screen at its station, next to the orders from the POS. Prefer paper? It prints on the kitchen printer, or you use both.

Questions about the self-service kiosk

What hardware do I need?

An Android screen on a stand and a card terminal. In the kitchen, you use a kitchen display, a kitchen printer, or both. We supply the hardware through Origo.

Which languages are available?

You choose the languages and write the translations of dishes and extras. The kiosk buttons and messages exist in Icelandic, English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

What happens if the payment fails?

If the card is declined, no order is made, and the guest can try again or cancel.

If the terminal does not answer, the kiosk asks the guest to talk to staff before trying again, so the card is charged only once. If the kiosk restarts after the payment is approved, it finishes the same order.

Do kiosk sales go into the end-of-day report?

Yes. Kiosk sales go into the same end-of-day report as your POS sales, and from there to your accounting.
