One Friday evening with Resto

Follow one restaurant from 16:00, when the owner prepares the shift, until the day’s sales are in the accounts. Each step shows the screen the staff use at that moment.

Step 1 of 11

The owner prepares the evening in a chat with the AI Assistant

The owner asks the AI Assistant in the back office to mark an item sold out and to change the opening hours. The AI Assistant shows each change before it makes it.

The owner approves, and the change is on every device in the venue.

Step 2 of 11

Staff sign in and see the room

Each member of staff signs in to the POS with their own PIN. The room shows as it is set up in the back office.

The colour of each table shows its state. Tonight’s bookings are in the list next to the floor plan.

Step 3 of 11

The drinks discount applies on its own

The owner set up 10 % off drinks on weekdays from 17:00 to 19:00. The POS puts the discount on every line the rule covers.

The discount shows on the check and in the day’s reports.

  • A discount on items or on the whole check
  • Manual discounts with a reason

Step 4 of 11

The server takes the order for the whole table

The server picks a dish and gives it a seat and a course. If the guest must choose a side, the POS asks before the dish goes on the check.

The starters go to the kitchen at once. The mains wait until the server fires them.

Step 5 of 11

Each kitchen station gets its own dishes

The chef sees the order on the screen as soon as the server sends it. The cold station gets the starters, the grill gets the mains and the bar gets the drinks.

A station can have a screen, a printer or both. A ticket turns amber after 10 minutes and red after 20, unless the station uses other times.

Step 6 of 11

A guest orders at the kiosk

A guest who wants takeaway picks a language on the kiosk by the entrance. The guest sees the allergens for each dish, builds the order and pays by card.

The order goes straight to the kitchen display, the same way as an order from a server.

Step 7 of 11

On the terrace, the server takes the order and the payment on a phone

The server on the terrace uses the POS on a phone. The server takes the order at the table and sends it to the kitchen from there.

The guest pays by holding a card or a phone against the server’s phone. No card terminal is needed.

Step 8 of 11

The guests at one table pay separately

The guests at the table want to pay separately. The server selects the dishes and moves them to a new check on the tablet.

Each check is paid on its own, by card on the card terminal or in cash.

  • Split by item, one item into equal parts, or by amount
  • Each check is paid on its own
  • Card, cash, gift card and more

Step 9 of 11

The internet goes down and service continues

The street loses its connection in the middle of service. The POS keeps taking orders and prints kitchen tickets on the local network.

When the internet returns, the sales catch up on their own.

Step 10 of 11

The shift manager closes the day on the POS

The last guests have left. The shift manager opens the Z-report on the POS and sees the day’s sales, discounts, write-offs and refunds.

The report also counts how often the drawer opened without a sale. The shift manager prints the report and closes the day.

Step 11 of 11

The day’s sales, in the accounts

The day’s sales, payments and VAT are booked in your accounting system. On Monday, the owner finds the whole weekend there.

The owner checks the day on a phone at home. The back office works on a computer and on a phone.
