Table service

Table service, course by course

Your servers see the room, note a seat and a course on every line, and fire the next course with one tap. For restaurants and hotel restaurants.

Switching to Resto is free, and you can cancel at any time.

The room

The whole room at a glance

The colour of each table shows if it is free, held for a booking, occupied or waiting to be cleared. On an occupied table you see the number of guests and how long they have been seated.

Table 5 selected: the amount, guests, items and minutes seated, with buttons to view the order or pay.

Seats

Each plate to the right guest

The server picks a seat when entering the item. The top of the order shows what each seat ordered.

Seat 2
The item belongs to the guest in seat 2. Whoever runs the food knows where the plate goes.
Shared
For things the table shares, such as bread or a bottle of wine.
3 guests
The guest count is saved on the order and shows in the ticket details on the kitchen display.

Courses

Courses, in the right order

The kitchen sees the whole order at once, and later courses wait until the server fires them. You set a default course for each item in the back office, and the server can change it on the line.

The kitchen gets a short ticket that says FIRE MAINS and starts cooking.

Moving guests

Guests move and the order goes with them

The server moves the whole order, or only some lines, to a new table on the floor plan.

  • Change table

The server picks a new table on the order. The old table becomes free.

  • Two tables, one order

One order can sit on more than one table, for example when tables are pushed together for a large group.

  • Move items

Selected lines go to another table or another open order, for example when a guest at the bar gets a table.

Hotel restaurants

Hotel guests charge the check to their room

Resto connects to the Apaleo hotel system. The guest sees the meal on their room bill at checkout.

  1. 1The server picks Room charge on the payment screen.
  2. 2The server searches by room number or guest name.
  3. 3The server picks the reservation and sees the name, room and stay.
  4. 4The server confirms the full amount or part of it.

Questions

Common questions about table service

Do I have to use courses?
No. Courses are a setting you turn on. Without it, the whole order goes to the kitchen when the server sends it.
Can we use paper tickets instead of a kitchen display?
Yes. Each kitchen station can print tickets, show the order on a screen, or both. See printers.
Does Resto connect to a booking system?
Yes, EasyTable. Today’s bookings show next to the floor plan, and a table is held half an hour before a booking starts. See the floor plan.
Does room charge work with every hotel system?
Room charge works with Apaleo today. Contact us if your hotel uses another system.
What devices do servers use?
An Android tablet, phone or card terminal. All devices show the same orders. See mobile POS.
Do servers need training?
Staff get going with minimal training. How to switch to Resto.
