Hardware

Runs on Android devices, including the ones you own

The POS, the kitchen display and the kiosk run on Android tablets, phones and card terminals. Get the devices through Origo, or use the ones you own.

Switching to Resto is free, and you can cancel at any time.

Where the devices come from

Get the devices through Origo, or use your own

Origo is Resto’s hardware partner. If you already own Android devices, you can start with them and buy only what is missing.

Hardware through Origo

Tablets, card terminals, printers and screens come from Origo. We set up the devices with you at your venue.

Your own devices

Resto runs on standard Android tablets and phones. If a device breaks, you buy a new one and pair it with a QR code. The devices you buy are yours.

What a device needs

Network
Wi-Fi or a network cable on the local network
POS
A phone, or a tablet of 8 inches or more
Terminal
An Android terminal from Origo or from your card acquirer

A browser on a computer or a phone

We go through your devices with you in the demo.

The devices

One app, five kinds of device

Each device gets its job when you set it up.

  1. The POS at the counter

    Tablet 10–13″

On the tablet, staff take orders, split bills and close the day. It sits on a stand at the bar or at the counter.

    Screen
    10–13 inches
    Mount
    Stand or wall mount
    Network
    Wi-Fi or network cable

    About the point of sale

  2. The POS in the server’s pocket

    Phone 6–7″

The server takes the order at the table and sends it straight to the kitchen. With Tap to Pay, the phone also takes the card, with no terminal.

    Screen
    6–7 inches
    Payment
Tap to Pay: the guest holds a card or phone to it

    Wi-Fi

  3. POS and card reader in one device

    Card terminal 6.75″

The POS runs on the terminal itself, and the terminal takes the card. A food truck or a small café can start with one device.

    Tap, chip, PIN
    Screen

  4. A screen at each kitchen station

    Kitchen screen 10″ and up

A tablet on the wall is enough. Larger kitchens use a monitor on the wall or on a ceiling rod, with a small Android device in the monitor’s HDMI port.

    Screen
From 10 inches to 24 inches and larger
    Mount
Wall mount, arm or ceiling rod
    Touch
Recommended, so the chef can mark tickets done

  5. Guests order and pay on their own

    Self-service kiosk 21–32″

The kiosk runs on a portrait Android screen with a card reader. The guest orders and pays, and the order goes straight to the kitchen.

    Screen
    21–32 inches, portrait
    Mount
Floor stand, counter stand or wall mount
    Payment
    Card reader in the stand

Contact us

Does Resto work on an iPad or iPhone?
The POS, the kitchen display and the kiosk run on Android. The back office opens in a browser, so you can use it on a Mac, an iPad or any computer.
Who updates the devices?
We do. The devices are enrolled in mobile device management (MDM), and updates install automatically outside business hours. Read more about security.
What happens to the devices if I stop using Resto?
Devices you bought are yours. You can install another system on them or use them for something else.
What happens when the internet connection drops?
The POS keeps taking orders and prints kitchen tickets on the local network. A card terminal with 4G keeps taking cards. The data syncs when the connection returns. Read more about Resto offline.
