Mobile POS
The whole POS in your pocket.
Take the order at the table, send it to the kitchen and take the card, all on one phone.
Switching to Resto is free, and you can cancel at any time.
Payment at the table
Tap to Pay
With Tap to Pay, the server’s Android phone takes contactless payments. You can keep your card terminals too, for example at the bar.
- 1
Pick Tap to Pay
The amount is the check total, or a part of it when the check is split.
- 2
Tap the card
The guest holds a contactless card, phone or watch to the back of the phone.
- 3
Paid
The payment shows on the check. A receipt prints if the guest wants one.
At the table
Order right at the table
The phone has the full menu, every choice and extra, and your floor plan. Servers send the order to the kitchen from the table, save a trip to the POS and the food comes out sooner. It is the same app as on the tablet, and open checks are the same on every device.
On a card terminal
Turn your payment terminal into a POS
Resto also runs as an app on Teya and Straumur payment terminals. Take the order and the card payment on one handheld device. It connects over 4G and runs on battery, so it suits a terrace, a festival or a food truck.
- Order and pay on one device
- Staff key in the order, and the guest pays on the same terminal. Kitchen tickets and receipts print on the venue printers.
- Same menu and reports
- You see terminal sales in the same end-of-day report as tablet and phone sales.
The terminal comes from your card acquirer, Teya or Straumur.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a card terminal if I use Tap to Pay?
No. The phone itself takes a contactless card, phone or watch. You can still use card terminals in the same venue, for example at the bar.
Which phones can I use?
An Android phone with NFC and Android 12 or newer. Adyen must accept the phone, and Resto checks this before the first payment. iPhone is not supported.
Which payment technology does Tap to Pay use?
Adyen. Resto sets up Tap to Pay for you, so you do not open a separate account. The venue can also use card terminals from Teya or Adyen.
Can I use the phone as a POS without Tap to Pay?
Yes. The phone takes orders, sends them to the kitchen, and takes cash, gift cards or card terminal payments, as the tablet does.
What happens if the internet drops?
Kitchen tickets still print over the venue wifi. New orders show on the kitchen display when the internet returns. Tap to Pay needs a connection to Adyen, so a phone with a SIM card uses 4G.
Does a receipt print when the guest pays on the phone?
Yes, if the guest wants one. The receipt prints on the venue’s receipt printer.
Can I refund a card payment?
Yes. The refund goes back to the same card, in full or in part.
